Peter Kálmán made Kammersänger of the Hungarian State Opera House
Étude Arts proudly shares that on Easter Sunday Peter Kálmán received the surprise announcement onstage, following a performance of Parsifal, that he has been made a Kammersänger of the Hungarian State Opera House.
Artistic Director, András Almási-Tóth, accompanied by the celebration of singer colleagues, choristers, orchestra, and the audience cheered Peter Kálmán for this richly deserved honor.
Kammersänger Kálmán made his debut at the Hungarian State Opera House in 1993 and has bowed in an array of roles – from Papageno and Don Pasquale to Nick Shadow and Scarpia – and he has appeared on many of the world’s premier stages including the Opernhaus Zürich, Glyndebourne, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Salzburger Festspiele, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Seattle Opera, and Theater an der Wien.
His plans in the months ahead include performances at the Wiener Staatsoper, Latvian National Opera, Opéra Royal du Château de Versailles, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Hungarian State Opera and debuts at the Metropolitan Opera and Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
